What is Donorfy?

Donorfy is a cloud-based fundraising database and donor management CRM system for charities. We help charities revolutionise their fundraising and raise money more effectively by creating a better fundraising experience for everyone.

How much does Donorfy cost?

It depends, but probably less that you think! It’s free for organisations who want to manage a small number of records, using our Essentials plan. Otherwise, our Professional and Premium plans provide more features and scalability. Check our pricing plans for more information.

How long does it take to set up?

Donorfy is ready-made for you to use out of the box. It is easy to use and the integrations to other apps are ready to go. We’ll happily provide some help to get you onboard.

Over and above that, our approved Partners are there to help you with migrations, integrations and training.

How many users can use Donorfy?

All Donorfy pricing is for unlimited users. The subscription is per organisation.

What do you charge for online donations?

We don’t charge any fees for online donations. The payment gateways with which Donorfy integrates deduct their own processing fees. For example see the pricing pages for Stripe and GoCardless.

Do we need accounts for integrated services?

Yes – you need an account with Donorfy-integrated services such as MailChimp, Stripe, GoCardless, JustGiving, PCA Predict and so on.

What do you do with our data?

It’s your data. In the eyes of the data protection legislation Donorfy is the data processor, and the client is the data controller.  We don’t sell you data. We don’t use it for wealth-screening. 

In our terms and conditions we reserve the right to anonymise the data and use it for benchmarking purposes as an offering to all Donorfy users in due course. But the data will not be identifiable to any one organisation or constituent - please check our terms and conditions.

Is Donorfy PCI compliant?

Donorfy does not store any payment card data, even for recurring donors. That information is stored by the payment gateways such as Stripe, and in the case of Direct Debits, by GoCardless.

Their systems and procedures are PCI DSS compliant. Donorfy does not need to be PCI audited for that reason.

How secure is it?

Very. Donorfy uses the Microsoft cloud platform called Azure - it is renowned for having the best security that can be achieved by any cloud security. Quote: “From a security point of view, I think Azure is a demonstrably more secure environment than most banks’ data centres.” John Schlesinger, Chief Enterprise Architect, Temenos (Switzerland).

Microsoft employ ethical hackers to find any vulnerabilities, and physical / procedural security of their data centres is very strong.

Is it 100% guaranteed secure? Nothing is, but Donorfy at Azure is far more secure than a charity’s CRM system residing on a server on their premises. For more information visit.

Can Donorfy manage recurring donations?

Yes, Donorfy can manage recurring donations via many methods, including: 

  • built-in integration to GoCardless for Direct Debits, via a Donorfy web widget on your website.
  • built-in integration to Stripe for recurring card payments (also via a web widget)
  • Standing Orders – file from bank can be imported

How can I contact Donorfy?

How much does training cost?

Some training resources are available in the support website. Our approved partners can provide training services – face to face or on a screen share - please contact us if you would like us to refer you to an appropriate partner, or feel free to contact them direct.

How much will it cost to migrate my data into Donorfy?

It depends. It could cost nothing other than your time if you have a small amount to upload. To do this, check the File Upload feature in Donorfy.

Otherwise, our approved partners are on hand to assist you with more complex data migrations. The cost will depend on the complexity and number of data sources so it’s impossible to give a definitive answer here. Please contact us and we will refer you to an appropriate partner, or feel free to contact them direct.

Do you need credit card or bank account details for Essentials or a trial?

No – as no payment will be made we do not ask for your payment information when you are using the free Essentials plan or a trial of one of the paid plans.

What payment methods do you accept?

Donorfy subscriptions are paid by Direct Debit. So when you sign up for a paid product you will need your bank sort code and account number.

Do you charge VAT?

Yes – I’m afraid we are obliged to collect VAT at the standard rate on our plans.

How long is the trial?

Trials last for 14 days. However if you would like an extension please contact us and we’ll be happy to extend it for you.
