TH Sunflower Walk HR-60

The Thames Hospice Sunflower Walk

events

The Thames Hospice Sunflower Memory walk is an annual event, where supporters register to take part and collect sponsorship for their efforts.  In 2023, 750 walkers took part and the team smashed their £30,000 target, raising an amazing £101,545 - over 300% higher than expected.

This incredible amount will fund two nurses for an entire year, providing specialist care to those who need it. We also love:

  • The team were new in 2022, but by 2023 they had formed a tightknit crew, with experience of the event and learnings from the previous year being used to make this such a huge success.
  • They maximised the Donorfy integration with Eventbrite. Not only did this streamline ticket purchases, they sold sunflowers as an add on, raising an additional £2,492.

The Stamford Schools Card

membership

The Stamford Card, managed by Stamford Endowed Schools, fosters community collaboration by providing exclusive benefits at local businesses to cardholders who pay a £10 fee.

All proceeds are dedicated to student bursaries and, as of December 2023, the initiative boasts 233 cardholders. The funds raised over the last 12 months has raised nearly £28,000, paying for three transformational bursaries for students who would otherwise be unable to benefit from an education at the schools. We also love:

  • The innovative approach of engaging the local, independent business community to support a local cause, while also supporting and promoting those businesses.
  • They leveraged the full potential of Donorfy, utilising various features and integrations to streamline sign-ups, manage finances, monitor card expirations, and personalise supporter communications.

Longfield Summer Meadow Appeal

annual appeal

Longfield Community Hospice's summer appeal features a beautiful garden stake for supporters who donate. The stakes are showcased at a local Cathedral for 10 days, before going to their forever homes.

Their clever use of Donorfy resulted in their most successful summer appeal to date, prompting a number of supporter reactivations, including a £50,000 donation from one archived supporter. This funds over 900 hours of Hospice at Home care, which is provided to people free of charge in Gloucestershire, allowing them to spend the last few days or weeks of their lives in the comfort of their own home surrounded by the things and people they love. We also love:

  • They created a meadow to cut costs and utilise surplus stock, allowing supporters to choose from previous years' stake designs.
  • Their strategic use of Donorfy, including using the tag and list functions to create targeted campaigns for previous buyers, encouraging them to "complete their collection."
